The DLT Science Foundation (DSF) has been established to promote the use of distributed ledger technology (DLT).

In a press release supplied, the DSF emphasized that it will assist in several areas, including education, innovation, and research.

This includes the development of teaching materials, workshops, and open innovation initiatives, as well as the provision of scholarships and fellowships to academics.

Also, the group will provide awards to members of its university network. Universities such as the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, the London School of Economics, the National University of Singapore, University College London, and the University of Zurich are part of the network.

The Hedera open-source public ledger project also supports the DSF. According to the release, Hedera will provide the DSF University Network with its DLT experience.

In addition, the organization issued its first grant application solicitation. According to the release, the DSF provides up to $5 million to organizations and people that qualify.

Paolo Tasca, chairman and co-founder of the DSF, was enthusiastic about the possible breakthroughs that may result from its work. Unlocking the potential of DLT, according to Tasca, will improve the future for everyone. He emphasized that:

“The DLT Science Foundation aims to drive innovation, foster new collaborative models between academia, industry, and government, and promote the responsible adoption of DLT in business and society.”

The director and co-founder of the organization, Nikhil Vadgama, also remarked on the launch. According to Vadgama, the DSF has the potential to bolster academics and education at several colleges.

“Based on our own experiences and the obstacles we’ve encountered, we’ve built award programs to precisely meet the requirements of the DLT community,” Vadgama stated.
