AI Brings Elvis Back: ‘Elvis Evolution’ Immersive Experience Unveiled

An initiative to employ artificial intelligence (AI) to bring back the rock and roll superstar Elvis Presley for live performances has been unveiled by Layered Reality, a British business that specializes in immersive entertainment.

Fans of the music singer will be able to participate in an immersive experience called “Elvis Evolution,” which will implement artificial intelligence and holographic projections of Elvis. These projections will be created by using thousands of personal images and home movies.

From Elvis’s childhood in Mississippi to his Graceland residence to his legendary performances in Las Vegas, viewers will be taken on a journey through his life that will be replicated in virtual reality. In an interview with Reuters, Andrew McGuinness, CEO of Layered Reality, stated that the “climax” of the experience will be a “live” performance by an artificial intelligence performer in the likeness of Elvis.

Beginning in November, the performance will make its debut in London. After that, it will travel to several other locations, including Las Vegas, Berlin, and Tokyo.

In the past few months, this is the second case in which artificial intelligence has been utilized to “bring back to life” a celebrity from the past so that they can act once more in the present.

With a little assistance from artificial intelligence, Universal Music Group (UMG) released what was considered to be the “last song” of the Beatles in November of 2023. Using artificial intelligence, the vocal recording of John Lennon was reproduced, which allowed for the creation of the song “Now and Then.”

The practice of using artificial intelligence has also been adopted by other musicians who are currently employed in the industry. Grimes, a well-known singer and producer, might be considered one of the pioneering musicians who voiced their opinions regarding technology.

In April of 2023, she announced that she would share fifty percent of the royalties with the authors of artificial intelligence music that used her vocals. Shortly after that, Grimes released her very own open-source software program called elf.tech.

This tool is completely devoted to lawfully reproducing her voice using artificial intelligence for music composition. Despite this, the replication of AI has not always been welcomed with the same level of enthusiasm.

It was one of the most important conversations that took place during the strike that was led by the Screen Actors Guild and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, which caused Hollywood to be closed for 118 days.

A contract was eventually made that defined and established coverage for the creation, use, and modification of “digital replicas” of performers, This coverage was created and specified.

Despite this, many people in Hollywood continued to be dissatisfied with the possibility that artificial intelligence replication could reduce the number of work options available to them and have ramifications for the future use of their resemblance.
