ApeCoin (APE) is the token of the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) ecosystem.

This comes only a week after Yuga Labs, the creators of the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC), announced the opening of its Otherside metaverse on Saturday.

Since then, ApeCoin (APE), the standard currency required in Otherside, has surpassed Decentraland’s MANA, The Sandbox’s SAND, and Axie Infinity’s AXS in terms of market valuation.

APE, the Ethereum-based token for the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) ecosystem, was also outperforming the rest of the crypto market, outperforming the majority of the top 100 coins reported by CoinMarketCap.

APE was the 28th largest cryptocurrency by market cap as of this writing, with a market cap of approximately $5.5 billion.

On Wednesday morning, the only other token in the top 100 experiencing a similar increase was Secret (SCRT), which was up 10% on the previous day.

SCRT is the native token of the Secret Network, a privacy-focused network built on the Cosmos/Tendermint framework.

ALTER, a Web3 messaging service, established cooperation with Huddle01, a Web3 meeting platform, on Wednesday morning, proposing privacy-focused alternatives to popular meeting software such as Zoom and Google Meet.

On Secret, the two projects hope to establish a suite of privacy-focused communications and meeting capabilities.

“ALTER aspires to offer a one-stop suite that substitutes productivity software (G-Suite, Microsoft Teams, and so on) as well as community platforms such as Discord, Slack, and Telegram,” the team noted on its blog.

“Through this effort, ALTER and Huddle01 hope to onboard 100 million people by 2026.”

Meanwhile, the worldwide crypto market was stagnant, with a global market worth near $1.78 trillion, down 2% in the last day, according to CoinMarketCap.

Bitcoin, the market leader, was down roughly 2% to $38,762.82, while Ethereum, the second-largest cryptocurrency by market cap, was down 2% to $2,852.03.
