Baidu Launches Chatbot Ernie Premium Version

Baidu, a major Chinese tech company that specializes in internet and AI services, has revealed intentions to release a premium version of its ChatGPT-like bot, Ernie, according to reports.

Similar to ChatGPT, the Ernie bot is a Large Language Model(LLM) propelled by generative artificial intelligence. It is one of the first Chinese chatbots enabled by AI to be released this year.

Following the release, the Chinese search engine giant announced that beginning November 1, 2023, it will charge users 59.9 yuan ($8.18) monthly.

Baidu Commences AI Development Advancement

Baidu announced intentions earlier this year to release a new and improved version of its ChatGPT model competitor, Ernie 4.0.

According to the CEO of Baidu, Robin Li, the decision to launch a new and improved version of the LLM incorporated essential factors that may contribute to a new period of economic growth.

The decision to launch a new version of the bot that requires users to pay for its services is in line with Li’s recent plan to stimulate a new round of economic development.

Baidu’s LLM chatbot Ernie was one of the most downloaded applications on Apple’s IOS store in China after its initial release in August 2023, which caused quite a stir in the crypto community.

Baidu is progressively becoming an internet service provider specializing in AI-related services due to its recent developments.

In Addition to This…

Amid worldwide AI and technology enthusiasm, the introduction of ChatGPT a year ago prompted businesses to launch various AI ventures and models.

This rapid shift toward AI development drives tech industry titans to expedite their progress and innovation in artificial intelligence.

With the reintroduction of OpenAI’s improved AI chatbot tool earlier this year, AI-related industries have gravitated toward building and developing new and even better models, resulting in the eventual introduction of numerous LLMs.
