Bangladesh Wants to Join BRICS in 2024

BRICS is attempting to expand its alliance in 2024 and Bangladesh might be the next contender to get an invitation

BRICS is trying to extend its alliance in 2024, and Bangladesh might be the next contender to receive an invite. Brazil now provides further assistance to the South Asian nation’s bid to join the alliance in 2024.

Brazil’s Foreign Minister, Mauro Vieira, told a news conference with his colleague, Hasan Mahmud, that BRICS’ invitation to the country may be a beneficial development.

Viera specifically states that Dhaka shares the ideals and views of the present BRICS members. He goes on to say that as the country’s voice grows in the global south, Bangladesh has the potential to contribute significantly to the alliance in various ways.

Bangladesh, Brazil Explore Expanding Commerce

Bangladesh and Brazil’s foreign ministers met to explore expanding commerce. They also discussed expanding bilateral relations. Furthermore, Prensa Latina reports that the two foreign ministers agreed on new strategies and means of collaboration to maintain balanced trade.

The BRICS alliance has experienced remarkable expansion in recent years. Following invitations to several new members, BRICS is advancing the construction of a new global currency.

This new currency will seek to compete with and replace the US dollar while also strengthening the BRICS support system. Now that members have gone beyond the traditional initials, the bloc may be trying to broaden its influence in the global south with the admission of Bangladesh.

BRICS is anticipated to consider additional expansion and extend invitations at their forthcoming meeting this summer. The BRICS summit will take place in Russia this year, with Brazil and other bloc leaders in attendance.
