After a rocky week for cryptocurrencies with the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) and Signature Bank, the market valuation of Bitcoin (BTC) has surpassed that of tech titan Meta.

At the time of writing, Company Market Cap data indicates that Bitcoin’s market capitalization has hit $471.86 billion, surpassing Meta’s market capitalization of $469 billion.

Before 24 hours ago, BTC’s market size was roughly $37 billion less than Meta’s market cap, lying at $433.49 billion compared to $469 billion for Meta.

Nonetheless, Bitcoin’s market cap increased by 9.7% during the last 24 hours, propelling it to the eleventh position among the top assets by market capitalization, just behind Tesla.

On February 20, it was announced that Bitcoin’s market capitalization has surpassed that of payment processing behemoth Visa for the third time in history, placing it barely ahead of Visa.

The margin between the two market capitalizations is now more than $20 billion; however, it is still quite a way from gold, which holds the top spot with a market size of $12.59 trillion, followed by Apple in second place with a market cap of $2.380 trillion.

The price of Bitcoin has gained 8.72% in the previous twenty-four hours, reaching USD 24,441 now.
