Bloomberg Terminal Expands Its Crypto Coverage
Bloomberg Terminal now covers 50 crypto assets. This is to enable its institutional investor clients to get better information about how the market is moving.

Bloomberg, a financial and technical information platform, has significantly expanded its coverage of crypto markets with the addition of data on the top 50 crypto assets to the Bloomberg Terminal.

Alex Wenham, Bloomberg’s product manager for cryptocurrencies, suggested that as “the global institutional investor” community’s interest in digital assets grows, they will need a way to “seamlessly incorporate digital assets into their workflows.”

As of 2018, Bloomberg’s terminal supported ten cryptocurrencies, including BTC, ETH, and XRP. The expansion introduces 40 new coins, including SOL, allowing financial professionals and institutions to access real-time financial market data and place trades.

This is the most significant expansion of its cryptocurrency data since Bloomberg Terminal began tracking Bitcoin in 2013.

Su Zhu, the co-founder of the Three Arrows Capital crypto investment fund, appears pleased with the terminal’s new additions. In a Friday tweet, he said, “Also cool that they link to the white papers.”

Bloomberg Terminal is regarded as a seminal tool for professional and institutional investors because it provides analysis, insights on compliance and risk, and the ability to trade. Bloomberg claims that it vets assets on the terminal using a data-driven approach that “evolves along with the crypto markets.”

By visiting CRYPGO>, Bloomberg Terminal users can access intraday pricing for all crypto it tracks.

The addition of so many more crypto assets to the platform indicates that the crypto markets have matured. Institutions are looking closely at their opportunities in the space to both develop platforms and profit.

Their interest is evidenced by the listing of a Bitcoin-themed exchange-traded fund (ETF) on the Italian stock exchange Borsa Italiana on June 7.
