ChatGPT Integrates CoinMarketCap for Real-Time Crypto Data

The cryptocurrency exchange Binance owns CoinMarketCap, which has created a unique module for the large language model (LLM)-based AI chatbot ChatGPT.

Users can access the feature by signing in to their ChatGPT Plus account and enabling the plugin, allowing them to ask the LLM a variety of crypto-related queries, according to an announcement made on October 11.

Aside from the $20-per-month subscription fee for ChatGPT Plus, there is no additional cost to using the plugin. “The basic ChatGPT is of limited use to crypto enthusiasts as most data is restricted until September 2021.

The recently expanded web browsing capabilities of ChatGPT also have limitations when it comes to serving real-time cryptographic data, developers wrote.

How correlated will Bitcoin and Ethereum be in 2023? Through the integration, ChatGPT’s prompts are populated with real-time information from CoinMarketCap, including listings, gainers and losers, the latest blockchain statistics, etc.

The application is compatible with both mobile and desktop devices. Amidst the ChatGPT growth, multiple exchanges are experimenting with artificial intelligence (AI) technologies.

In August, it was reported that cryptocurrency exchange Bitget introduced an AI-powered feature for its grid trading strategies, automating user transactions through the use of trading algorithms.

Gracy Chen, the managing director of Bitget, disclosed in an interview that the exchange uses AI tools to manage translation for its multilingual services and customer service department.

Last month, the United States Securities and Exchange Commission approved the Nasdaq exchange for AI-based trade orders.

Binance has also launched a nonfungible token generator enabled by AI for verified users.
