Coinbase Integrates Polygon (MATIC) On Its Platform
In the newly launched Coinbase mobile app, the features are geared at having a better user experience with the new Polygon integration.

In a recent blog post, cryptocurrency exchange company Coinbase said that its exchange customers would be able to send and receive ETH, MATIC, and USDC on Polygon, as well as USDC on Solana.

The cryptocurrency trading company cited several reasons for abandoning Ethereum. It added that the rising cost of using the ecosystem for both individual users and institutions as a result of gas fees has complicated the process of funding wallets.

Coinbase will streamline the process of financing crypto wallets by letting clients convert fiat to crypto and fund their Polygon and Solana wallets in minutes and at a lower cost, according to the post.

Qualified Coinbase Exchange customers will be able to send and receive ETH, MATIC, and USDC on Polygon during the next month, as well as USDC on Solana. Support for more tokens and networks will be added later.

“Coinbase said it has removed the complexity of managing different balances of a single asset across networks with one comprehensive, unified balance.”

The Polygon connection also marks Coinbase’s first time allowing the sending and receiving of these assets on an L2.

Coinbase acknowledged that it went to its core and standing design principles to produce an easy, polished user experience that feels “immediately accessible, intuitive, and familiar” in what the business dubbed a familiar yet different innovation.

The app would also have great multichain compatibility, which now includes Solana, one-tap access to monitor your DeFi positions, dark mode, and real time price charts, putting the power of web3 in your pocket.

Its recently integrated app browser intends to make the ever-expanding world of apps more accessible as well. The new app browser offers a curated list of popular apps from all networks supported by Coinbase Wallet, making it easier to discover and explore new apps.

Finally, the new home page quick action buttons enable one-tap access to DEX swaps, sending or receiving crypto, and funding Coinbase Wallet with Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, and hundreds of other assets using a debit card or bank account.
