Crypto Entrepreneurs’ Social Media Rankings

The most recent list of the ten most popular crypto entrepreneurs according to their social media presence features a mixture of extremely influential and controversial figures, with Binance CEO Changpeng “CZ” Zhao at the top and convicted fraudster Sam Bankman-Fried at the bottom.

After shortlisting CryptoWeekly’s 30 most influential individuals in cryptocurrency in 2023 and combining their social media followings to ascertain the most widely followed crypto personalities globally, CoinLedger compiled the top 10 list.

Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin and Twitter co-founder and Block CEO Jack Dorsey, in that order, are seated at the cool kids’ table with CZ, occupying the top three positions.

CZ emerged as the most popular personality in cryptocurrency, according to a study by CoinLedger, with roughly 9.1 million combined followers on X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram.

Howevererin and Dorsey accumulated a combined following of 6.4 million on Instagram and 7.7 million on Twitter, respectively, in contrast to CZ. Michael Saylor, co-founder of MicroStrategy, and Cathie Wood, founder and CEO of ARK Invest, are positioned fourth and fifth, respectively.

Saylor has approximately half of Dorsey’s nearly 3.25 million followers, whereas Wood has just over 1.6 million. Marc Andreessen, a venture capitalist, and Chamath Palihapitiya secured the sixth and seventh positions, respectively, with 1.6 million and 1.3 million followers, respectively.

Barry Silbert, CEO of Digital Currency Group, and Brian Armstrong, CEO of Coinbase, occupied the subsequent two positions with 1.25 million and 1.2 million followers, respectively.

Sam “SBF” Bankman-Fried, the former CEO and owner of the shut down cryptocurrency exchange FTX, came in at tenth place. A year after the FTX collapse, SBF sustained a 1.06 million follower count on both X and Instagram.

According to data from Socialblade, SBF’s total number of followers surpassed 1.1 million during the FTX implosion and has remained at one million since then.

During this period, SBF’s overall reach amassed around 780,000.
