This Monday, the well-known Doge on the internet took the place of Twitter’s iconic bird logo in a surprising move. Dogecoin’s price increased by 8% due to the logo change.

The change occurred after billionaire Elon Musk purchased the social media giant for $44 billion in October 2022. Twitter users have expressed mixed feelings about the new Doge logo. Some find the exchange amusing and keeping with Musk’s sense of humor. Others, however, wonder if the platform has been ked or if this is a late April Fool’s joke.

Leo Schwartz, a reporter for Fortune, said something about the change to take people’s minds off of the Twitter Blue controversy. Twitter Blue is a subscription service that lets users buy verified status with a blue tick.

It will replace the old system, in which blue ticks were only given to favored accounts, and “legacy accounts” had to pay a monthly fee to stay verified. But almost all big media companies, celebrities, and politicians have refused to pay the price, which is a big problem for social media platforms.
