At press time, the tweet had been seen about 77.1 million times, with about 807,000 likes, 207,000 reposts, and 24.1K favorites. The picture of his face was shared after he was arrested on Aug. 24.

Trump was taken into custody because of claims that he tried to change the result of the 2020 presidential race in Georgia.  After being arrested, he went through the process at Fulton County Jail. This jail is known for having bad conditions for those locked up there.

Speaking about the viral Donald Trump mugshot, Fulton County Sheriff Pat Labat said, “Unless somebody tells me differently, we are following our normal practices, and so it doesn’t matter your status, we’ll have a mug shot ready for you.”
