Developers issued a warning of a fake Curve Finance app uploaded to the Apple App Store that pretends to be the DeFi protocol.

There is a bogus program that has been uploaded to the Apple App Store that pretends to be the decentralized finance protocol known as Curve Finance. Developers issued a warning on February 14, stating that there is currently no official DeFi Curve app available.

“Be wary of con artists,” the staff at Curve cautioned. There was a fake that had our logo on it! For your safety,According to the unofficial Curve app, MK Technology Co. Ltd. is the company that developed it. A single proton mail contact address is supplied on the main website of the company, which is hosted by Google sites

Additionally, a “Curve Finance” descriptor is included on the page. On the App Store, there are no additional applications that were developed by MK Technology. The fraudulent application, which has received nine reviews and a rating of 4.6 stars out of a possible five, advertises itself as a “highly effective application for managing your borrowers and their loans.”

Users can also find enjoyment within the app itself by participating in puzzle games that are located in the gaming section. According to the suspected con artist, “you have the option of playing either the classic version or the shuffle version of the game.”

As of the time of publication, it is not apparent whether the software is just using the Curve Finance brand without a license or whether it is intended to steal the wallet assets of users by utilizing features that are built within the program itself. Over the course of many years, the issue of fake crypto apps has been a chronic concern.

On June 21, 2023, Apple removed a fraudulent Trezor wallet app from its App Store. When users opened the bogus application, they were prompted to enter their wallet seed phrases, which gave hackers the opportunity to exhaust all of the users’ cryptocurrency holdings.

Similarly, on November 5, 2023, Microsoft withdrew a fraudulent Ledger app that had stolen $588 thousand across 38 transactions prior to its delisting. This was the third time in the past two years that Microsoft has done so.
