Chatbots powered by AI technology is not novel. However, the public’s concerns about the rapid rise of AI chatbots as integrations into emerging technology and society have been growing.

Concerns about the increasing use of artificial intelligence chatbots were highlighted in a new study conducted in Japan and released on April 30.

According to Kyodo News, 69.4 percent of Japanese want more oversight on the creation of AI.

The study was part of a more significant effort to gauge public opinion on various issues, including the state of the nation’s leadership and the impact of recent pandemics.

The AI addition, however, is timed with the current public endorsement of Open AI, the firm behind ChatGPT by the Japanese government.

Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Hirokazu Matsuno indicated on April 10 that the government is considering incorporating artificial intelligence. However, this can only happen if privacy and cyber security concerns are resolved.

Japan has recently advocated for a more open regulatory climate for crypto and Web3 innovation. On April 6, the Web3 project team in the nation launched a new whitepaper discussing how to grow the local crypto community.

Concerns concerning the regulation of AI and its potential social effects have been raised by governments worldwide. ChatGPT was initially banned in Italy, making it one of the first countries to do so.

Recently, however, officials have indicated that the technology may be allowed back in only because it satisfies the requirements for openness.

While the Artificial Intelligence Act, which will serve as a precedent for all EU member states, is being finalized, German regulators have launched their investigation into ChatGPT’s compliance with GDPR.

In addition, Chinese authorities have stated that, as a result of the increased growth of AI, both AI businesses and the technology itself would soon be subject to required security evaluations.
