Manchester City Teams Up with Quidd for Digital Collectibles

Manchester City partners with Quidd, a digital collectibles platform utilizing blockchain technology, to provide digital collectibles for Cityzens.

Animoca Brands’ Quidd has established a multi-year relationship with Manchester City. Quidd, which has been around since 2016, is a marketplace for digital collectibles and NFTs that uses blockchain technology to let brands give their fans tangible experiences.

In contrast, Manchester City has won a slew of trophies in the last decade, propelling them to the status of one of the most recognizable football brands in the world.

As a result of their collaboration, Quidd will be releasing a variety of limited-edition digital collectibles featuring Manchester City for “Cityzens,” a term for Manchester City supporters. Members of the Man City fan base can utilize their collections to gain access to unique content, such as hospitality tickets, official merchandise, and a chance to see first-team training at the City Football Academy.

At 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 2nd, you may purchase the first batch of player cards, which includes over 200 unique designs, on the Quidd marketplace. Within the first 72 hours of release, the first 10,000 “Cityzens” will have the opportunity to receive two complimentary packs in addition to special access to the “For the Fans” packs.

In a statement, Tom Boyle, City Football Group’s VP of global partnerships, marketing, and operations, commented on the partnership: “We’re excited to help transform the traditional football pastime of cards and collectibles in a new digital age alongside Quidd, enabling us to further connect with our fans across the globe.” We are excited to collaborate on future digital content and games for our followers.

One of the top platforms for mainstream brands wishing to create digital experiences for their followers, Quidd has collaborated with more than 325 worldwide brands, including Disney, Game of Thrones, Rick and Morty, the NBA, and Manchester City, among many others.

By integrating the age-old pastime of collecting football stockers and cards into the digital sphere, our platform provides a variety of activities that allow fans to trade and accumulate digital cards.

“Our goal is to completely transform the sports collectibles industry, and we believe that our partnership with Manchester City is a perfect example of how we intend to do it,” said Michael Bramlage, CEO of Quidd. Thanks to the partnership, Man City supporters will be able to bond with the team and their heroes on a more personal level.
