MultiversX, Runtime Verification Unveil PI Squared

During the third day of the xDay conference hosted by MultiversX, Runtime Verification, an Illinois-based security auditing firm, debuted its universal zero-knowledge (ZK) rollup, PI Squared.

As its consensus layer, PI Squared utilizes MultiversX’s blockchain.

By shifting the emphasis from traditional methods to mathematical proofs, PI Squared is intended to revolutionize the verification of computational claims.

This will be made possible by a universal proof checker implemented as a custom parallel ZK circuit, per a press release shared with CryptoSlate.

Runtime Verification is renowned for employing NASA-created formal verification techniques to improve the safety and dependability of computing systems.

Runtime Verification is now bringing its expertise to the blockchain industry, where the complexity of smart contract composability and blockchain architecture demands stringent security measures.

There has been a corresponding rise in hacking incidents and smart contract exploits alongside the rapid expansion of the blockchain industry. This has highlighted the necessity for higher security standards.

Runtime Verification’s ZK rollup-based solution aims to address these problems, as it goes beyond merely improving the scalability of Layer 1 networks.

PI Squared is a programming language and virtual machine (VM) independent, per Runtime Verification.

This makes it available to developers, users, and businesses employing the MultiversX blockchain in their workflows.

PI Squared will enable them to quickly, trustlessly, and programmatically verify the correctness of proofs, promising a more secure and trustworthy blockchain ecosystem.

By offering a development toolkit that can detect subtle bugs and logic flaws from the design phase, MultiversX aims to become an attractive platform for businesses seeking to guarantee the integrity of blockchain-based projects.
