The division among the OpenAI board members appears to be expanding rapidly in the wake of the organization’s announcement that Sam Altman was removed for lack of confidence.
Greg Brockman, co-founder and president of OpenAI, declared his resignation from the organization shortly after that.

Greg Brockman posted on the social media platform X:
“I’m super proud of what we’ve all built together since starting in my apartment 8 years ago. We’ve been through tough & great times together, accomplishing so much despite all the reasons it should have been impossible. But based on today’s news, I quit.”
He added that he remains committed to developing secure artificial general intelligence for the benefit of all humanity.
Brockman was slated to relinquish his role as board chairman but maintain his employment with the organization, assuming a reporting position under the newly appointed CEO under the recently disclosed modifications.
Meanwhile, the question at hand pertains to whether Sam Altman’s exit would result in a significant departure of talented individuals from the organization in the future.
However, the repercussions of Altman’s departure from the OpenAI board have already permeated his other projects, like Worldcoin.
In the past few hours, WLD, the native cryptocurrency of digital identity projects Worldcoin, has declined 12%.
Entreaty Emerges Among Altman and Board Members
Significant disagreements between the CEO and the board, specifically with Ilya Sutskever, a co-founder and chief scientist, precipitated OpenAI’s separation from Sam Altman.
Disagreements revolved around the commercialization of the company’s products, the degree of technology advancement velocity, and AI security.
These conflicts reflect enduring concerns that have plagued OpenAI since its inception concerning the responsible development of artificial intelligence.
Meanwhile, this is comparable to past disputes that compelled Elon Musk to have severe relations with OpenAI in 2018 and several employees to depart in 2020 to establish the competitor Anthropic.
Sutskever has recently assembled a group to investigate the management of forthcoming “super intelligent” AI systems.
Due to tensions with Altman and the company’s president, Greg Brockman, Sutskever’s responsibilities were reduced a month before Altman’s departure.
However, after appealing his case, he subsequently gained the support of some board members.
