Over Protocol Aims To Launch Its Mainnet In June 2024

Over Protocol, a lightweight node protocol for layer 1 blockchain, is set to launch its mainnet in June.

A lightweight node protocol for layer 1 blockchain Over Protocol has announced that its mainnet will launch in June.

Over Protocol is based on the “Ethanos” protocol, which only accepts authentic, currently-active accounts. This means that full nodes may safely delete old data and use as little storage as necessary. The Over Protocol allows regular people to use their computers to operate a node and verify transactions.

With its tiered approach to blockchain data handling, the protocol successfully lowers the hardware requirements for running complete nodes. Additionally, it opens up several entry points by introducing a consensus process comparable to Ethereum.

In addition, it has a number of distinctive qualities. To make things more efficient, it rethinks data hierarchy and administration, uses an inclusive consensus mechanism to encourage more people to get involved, and provides software packages that are easy for everyone to use.

The project’s overarching goal is to build a blockchain ecosystem that dismantles the power of a select few while giving everyone a chance to take part in and benefit from the network.

More than 750,000 users from across the globe joined the protocol’s testnet

December of last year marked the beginning of the protocol’s testnet. March saw the release of Open Beta Testnet Phase 2. Anyone who participated in any testnet phase will have a chance to obtain Over Protocol’s airdrop by using their cumulative points. There was a lot of excitement as the testnet attracted over 750,000 people from all over the world.

The Over Protocol development team, known as Superblock, is in charge of developing all the necessary goods, tools, and decentralized apps to keep the project afloat. A number of investors, including SK, Netmarble, and DSC, helped the firm raise $8 million in 2023.

Over Protocol’s OverWallet, a mobile bitcoin wallet, is now available in additional regions thanks to a partnership with Web3 mobile infrastructure provider Jambo. With the help of Jambo’s Android smartphone, the JamboPhone, the two companies hope to attract new clients.
