Puffverse’s platform secured $3 million in seed funding, backed by Animoca Brands and other investors.
Seed funding for Puffverse’s platform, which includes interactive 3D environments and one-of-a-kind non-fungible token (NFT) characters, was $3 million. Animoca Brands led the round, which also included Sky Mavis, Arcane Group, Spartan Group, Foresight Ventures, HashKey Capital, and Xu Family Office. The newly acquired funds will set up a cloud gaming platform, enabling NFT projects to create individualized metaverses using Puffverse’s engine without requiring coding skills, and advance the development of PuffGo, Puffverse’s flagship game.
The Puffverse is a virtual world that supports several platforms and integrates Web2 and Web3 games. Characters are made up of a wide variety of quirky avatars with unique personalities, looks, and skills embodied as NFTs.
These one-of-a-kind characters are available for players to acquire, and each one has its own distinct outfit, set of abilities, and set of perks that enhance the gameplay experience. These characters can be used for gameplay, income, or life simulation activities in the game and ecosystem.
The Puffverse Portfolio Will Be Moved To The Ronin Blockchain Through A Joint Venture With Sky Mavis
Along with closing the fundraising round, Puffverse announced a partnership with Sky Mavis to bring all their assets to Ronin, an Ethereum-based gaming blockchain.
Sky Mavis’s Ronin is incredibly scalable; it can handle millions of users every day and has processed over $4 billion worth of NFTs. Additionally, millions of in-game transactions may take place without a hitch because of Ronin’s optimizations for very instantaneous transactions and essentially zero fees.
PuffGo, the first game in the Puffverse series on Ronin, is playable in both solo and multiplayer modes. It is a multiplayer royale party game with a wide variety of levels, themes and gameplay options. With its focus on UGC, PuffGo lets players create their own game maps, paving the way for future projects to let users build completely personalized metaverses. To top it all off, the next AIGC capabilities will let users direct AI tools with text commands to design levels, maps, gameplay aspects, and even build their own metaverses.
Trung Nguyen, CEO and Co-Founder of Sky Mavis, stated that party games could benefit from Web3 techniques due to their fast gameplay loops and interactive social aspects. “The Puffverse team also has a great grasp of the Chinese and East Asian markets, which we think offers a lot of potential for Ronin to grow,” he continued.
The Puffverse ecosystem is well-rounded, with a wide range of products to meet the demands of different users. Here are just a few examples: PuffTown, a Web3 control panel that manages all things related to Puffverse; PuffLand, a user-generated content platform that lets you make games without having to worry about any technical details; and PuffWorld, a platform that lets you make 3D metaverses.
They will capture a snapshot of the Puff NFTs on the BNB Chain on April 29th to commemorate the milestone. Following this, Puffverse will transfer and airdrop the NFTs to their respective Ronin addresses. Later this year, Puffverse plans to launch its ecosystem token and an exclusive selection of NFTs on Ronin, as previously announced.
