Quincy University’s Latest Choice of Donations
Quincy University, a private Franciscan university based in Illinois, has started accepting cryptocurrency donations. It accepts contributions in a total of 32 cryptocurrencies. Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Litecoin (LTC), Tron (TRX), Dogecoin (DOGE) and Shiba Inu (SHIB) are among the available options.
Matt Bergman, senior director of advancement at Quincy University, highlighted the mushrooming growth of the cryptocurrency industry in his statement, predicting that it will not be slowing down “anytime soon”:

Universities That Accept Crypto Donations
The first American university to accept a cryptocurrency donation was the University of Puget Sound, which received 14.5 Bitcoin from an alumnus in 2014, which was worth about $10,000 to the university at the time. BitPay, a payment processing provider, was used to make the transfer.
The number of universities that have accepted cryptocurrencies has surged since then, according to the multitude of reports that have come in for similar institutions since then. The University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School has even made it feasible for participants in its blockchain program to pay their tuition fees in Bitcoin.
