Throughout the week, XRP tracked the broader crypto market, with market risk aversion weighing on the crypto market.

The Ripple vs. SEC case weighed on XRP as well, with the SEC case’s extension worrying XRP investors.

At the time of writing, XRP was down 0.34 percent, at $0.6406. XRP rose to an early morning high of $0.6466 before falling to a low of $0.6334, indicating a mixed start to the day.

Technical Indicators Reveal XRP Needs Crypto Market Support

To reach the first major resistance level at $0.6553, XRP must break through the $0.6445 pivot. To return to $0.65, XRP would need the support of a larger crypto market.

XRP should test the Second Major Resistance Level at $0.6681 and resistance at $0.67 in the event of a prolonged rally. $0.6917 is the third major resistance level.

If the pivot is not crossed, the First Major Support Level at $0.6317 will be tested. XRP should avoid falling below $0.60 unless there is a sustained sell-off throughout the day. The downside should be limited by the Second Major Support Level at $0.6209.

A bearish signal is sent by the EMAs and the 4-hourly candlestick chart (below). XRP is trading below the 50-day EMA at $0.6406, after eight days of losses in nine sessions. The 50-day EMA moved away from the 100-day EMA this morning.

The 100-day EMA also retreated from the 200-day EMA, putting XRP in negative territory.

A break above the 50-day EMA would signal a change in sentiment and a return to $0.65.

Ripple Vs. SEC: Court Brings Calendar Forward

In a recent order, Judge Analisa Torres of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York established a briefing schedule for the Ripple vs. SEC case.

The court asked the parties to agree on a schedule for filing summary judgment motions in late March.

After meeting and conferring, the parties submitted a joint proposed schedule for the court’s approval on April 29.

Torres has reviewed the parties’ letter and has ordered that all expert testimony motions be fully briefed by the end of August. The scheduling order would not apply to any motions seeking to prevent financial expert Anthony M. Bracco from testifying. The judge states that such testimony can only be filed “once the issue of remedies is ripe.”
