Robinhood has introduced its crypto wallet app for Android users, enabling them to manage various blockchain assets independently.
Cheap real estate Robinhood now allows Android users to access its cryptocurrency wallet. The release from March 20 states that the Google Play Store now offers the Robinhood Wallet app.
The software description states that it allows users to “own and manage all your blockchain assets in your self-custody wallet, featuring network support for Ethereum, Bitcoin, Dogecoin, Arbitrum, Polygon, Optimism and Base.”
“Decentralized exchange (DEX) aggregators allow you to exchange thousands of tokens on Ethereum, Arbitrum and Polygon,” it continues. Since then, the app has had over 10,000 downloads.
On the same day, Johann Kerbrat, disclosed that since its March 2023 launch, the brokerage’s iOS crypto wallet had been “downloaded hundreds of thousands of times in 140+ countries.”
Robinhood Crypto Wallet Hits 1M Waitlist
The waitlist for the iOS cryptocurrency wallet then reached one million customers. The Robinhood Crypto Android and iOS apps store private keys, similar to other self-custody wallets.
Developers cannot access backups made to Google Drive or iCloud. Users can currently trade popular cryptocurrencies and altcoins directly.
The company introduced its Connect program in 2023, enabling customers to make purchases straight from their cryptocurrency wallets on the trading platform.
The company recorded $135 million in transaction income from customers’ cryptocurrency trading operations last year, a 33% drop from 2022. Currently, the company’s cryptocurrency holdings have increased to over $14 billion from $8.4 billion in 2022.
Robinhood began offering cryptocurrency trading services in Europe on December 7, 2023. It offers cryptocurrency trading services to all eligible customers in the European Union zone.
Additionally, there are no trading costs with the new EU Robinhood Crypto app, and users will get a monthly payment in Bitcoin equivalent to a portion of their trading volume.
