Snapchat Cracks Down on AI-Generated Content

Snapchat is implementing measures to label AI-generated content with a unique watermark, making it easier to identify AI contents.

Due to the growing popularity of artificial intelligence (AI), Snapchat, a social media platform, has decided to put in place measures to identify AI-generated content.

Snapchat AI Contents To Get Watermark

Because of the revolutionary advancements in AI technologies, it is now even more difficult to differentiate between what is real and what is not, which is why the decision was made to label content that was created by AI.

Snapchat intends to apply a watermark to all artificial intelligence-generated content. According to EnGadget, this watermark would be in the form of a ghost with sparkles displayed next to it.

When the user exports the material or image to their camera roll or saves it there, it becomes visible. Unlike other types of watermarks, there doesn’t seem to be a way to change the displayed icon’s location.

Therefore, the Snapchat team is persistently developing the offering, aiming for an official public release soon. Notably, the social media platform has decided to tag content within the app.

The installation of an artificial intelligence marker for photographs viewed from the outside prompted this decision. The presence of an Extend tool, which generates the effect of a zoomed-out image, constitutes an example of an artificial intelligence feature.

Earlier, Snap Inc. CEO Evan Spiegel predicted that artificial intelligence-generated content could cause confusion. In his earlier comments, Spiegel published an article that states, “Do not assume that the outputs of generative AI are true or depict real events.”

OpenAI Floats More Unique AI Products

Generative artificial intelligence is capable of and may make errors, as a result, the results may be erroneous, inappropriate, or incorrect. In addition to Snapchat’s decision, other digital titans, such as Alphabet Inc., have also avoided media content that was generated by artificial intelligence.

In addition to this, numerous technology companies and artificial intelligence companies have been continuously releasing more complicated AI tools over the course of the past couple of months.

OpenAI introduced the innovative tool known as Sora shortly after the release of ChatGPT. It is capable of producing films based on text descriptions.

This application’s functionality allows it to interpret detailed textual explanations and convert them into high-quality video examples. Tyler Perry, a well-known actor and producer, halted the development of a $800 million movie studio due to its unique characteristics.

He finds the advertised capabilities of the new Large Language Model (LLM) somewhat “shocking.” According to the celebrity, artificial intelligence will soon be responsible for the loss of “a lot of jobs” in the film industry.

The speech engine is another artificial intelligence tool that was introduced by OpenAI. It is capable of recreating a person’s speech by utilizing text input and a single 15-second recording sample.

We have only given this particular program access to a select few testers and asked them to comment on any potential risks associated with its use.
