Independent DeFi news platform Defiant News shared on X (previously Twitter) a report indicating that TRON was the leading blockchain for stablecoin transactions.
Justin Sun, the founder of TRON, reaffirmed that crypto adoption is still in its infancy. Sun stated this in response to a user questioning how TRON became the leading blockchain for stablecoin transfers.
Peter Johnson, co-head of venture at Brevan Howard Digital, was cited by Defiant News for a piece of data he released. With 2.4 million active addresses per week, Johnson’s data revealed that TRON DAO was the leading blockchain stablecoin transfer network.
A portion of Johnson’s report that Defiant News shared revealed that the weekly active addresses on TRON DAO consisted of 2,405,015 USDT addresses, 5,165 USDC addresses, and 2,679 TUSD addresses, for a total of 2,412,859 weekly active-stablecoin addresses on the TRON network.
According to Johnson’s report, the number of weekly active addresses on the TRON network is nearly double that of its closest competitor, the BSC network, which handles 1,375,699 addresses each week.
Ethereum, Polygon, Optimism, Arbitrum, Fantom, and Avalanche are additional stablecoin transfer networks included in this study.
TRON DAO is a community-governed, autonomous, decentralized organization. In its original form, it was referred to as the TRON network after launching in 2017 as a platform that enables the development of decentralized financial and social applications.
The TRON network has become one of the most critical platforms for facilitating transactions involving stablecoins such as USDT, USDC, and TUSD.
Notable in Johnson’s released data is the lack of BUSD addresses on the TRON network. The report indicates that Ethereum and the BSC chain are the only stablecoin networks that support BUSD, with the majority of addresses recorded on the BSC chain.
