Donors can also choose how their money is spent under the new fundraising platform for Ukraine.

Ukraine, which has become increasingly reliant on foreign donations to support its defense efforts and overcome humanitarian challenges in the aftermath of Russia’s invasion, now provides those wishing to assist with an integrated platform that streamlines the process and allocates financial assistance by the donor’s wishes.

According to its website, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy established United24 as the primary platform for collecting charitable donations to support Ukraine. Last week, the Ukrainian president announced the global initiative, with his administration stating that the goal is to unite people from all over the world in their desire to help the country.

According to a press release, United24 aims to increase the volume of donations for the Eastern European country while ensuring the efficiency and transparency of their distribution. The project allows everyone to join forces to support Ukraine and provide genuine assistance to Ukrainian citizens affected by the conflict. Zelenskyy highlighted and elaborated:

“Everyone can make a one-click donation from any country. Individual, conscious citizens, entrepreneurs, and large technology corporations.”

Donors can choose from a variety of payment options. Traditional methods include bank wire, credit card, and Paypal. Members of the cryptocurrency community can send money using a variety of coins, ranging from BTC and BCH to USDT and DOGE, via Whitepay, a provider of a POS solution for cryptocurrency payments.

Ukraine has already received millions of dollars in cryptocurrency donations, and the Ukrainian government launched a website called ‘Aid For Ukraine’ in March for those interested in sending digital currencies. It was announced following media reports that ‘Help Ukraine’ crypto scams are on the rise.

The financial assistance will be divided into three categories: defense and demining, humanitarian and medical assistance, and Ukraine reconstruction. When people and organizations click the ‘Make a button, they are prompted to select one of these options.

The collected funds will be deposited in accounts at the National Bank of Ukraine designated for the Ministries of Defense, Healthcare, and Infrastructure, which will use the funds to meet the most pressing needs. Every week, they will provide an update on the distribution of the donations.

Mykhailo Fedorov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation has been tasked with overseeing the initiative. Deloitte Ukraine, a member of the Deloitte international network, will review the reports filed by the ministries every quarter.
