Uniswap Expands Reach: Android Wallet Launch, Global Integration

Immediate access to the Uniswap wallet for all Android users will be granted after its beta release in October.

Tokens can be exchanged among various chains, presently encompassing Polygon, Arbitrum, Optimism, Base, and BNB Chain. Further integration of additional networks is planned for the future.

Swap protection is a feature of an MEV blocker that safeguards swaps by placing transactions in a private transaction pool; this prevents frontrunning and sandwich attacks.

The largest decentralized exchange in terms of transaction volume, Uniswap processes over $1.5 billion per day at present. DeFiLlama reports that the market capitalization of the protocol’s native token, UNI, is $3.9 billion and has a locked-up value of $3.6 billion.

The vice president of design at Uniswap Labs, Callil Capuozzo, stated in an interview that the new wallet will debut with support for eighteen currencies and six distinct languages.

“Tying everything together to expand our user base and global audience” was his statement.

The Uniswap Labs team had been devising strategies to reduce its reliance on erroneous machine translations to enhance the user experience for its global clientele.

Additionally, minor adjustments have been implemented regarding the exchange flow, Capuozzo added.

Batches of concerned users tested the Uniswap wallet before its official release. Participants were permitted to register, evaluate the wallet, and offer comments as required.

This was done to maintain stable error and malfunction rates for the application, according to Capuzzo.

“Because Android devices come in various sizes and configurations, there are significantly more potential edge cases,” he explained. “As a result, the beta was an excellent opportunity to collect user feedback and improve the product.”

The Uniswap wallet was made available on the Apple Store in April of this year. While the app’s current number of downloads remains unknown, it has accumulated over 600 ratings on the Apple Store.

Capuzzo stated, “Many Twitter users have inquired, ‘When will Android be available?'” As a result, the Android device is anticipated to attract a sizable user base.
