The composition, entitled “Big Boy (One-Derful Version),” shall be electronically released via the blockchain music platform Anotherblock and shall be obtainable via the player of the platform in conjunction with visual representations of the master recording and song stems. It will be available in both an open and limited edition for four days.

The audio recording, which has its origins on July 13, 1967, features an eight-year-old Michael Jackson and his siblings during their very first studio session at One-Derful in Chicago.

The publication is the outcome of a partnership between Recordpool, the proprietor of the recording, and Anotherblock, a Swedish blockchain-based marketplace for music and royalties.

Anotherblock has collaborated with notable artists such as Justin Bieber, Rihanna, and The Weeknd. Michel Traore, co-founder and CEO of the organization, stated:

“Doing this drop as a digital vinyl on-chain makes it possible to build stories and community around the song and elevate it beyond being just a commodity.”

“There are certain songs, and this one in particular, that deserve a special home where they will not be lost in the daily deluge of hundreds of thousands of tracks.”

“We have the opportunity to craft more narratives around the music with this new format.” He expressed enthusiasm for the release and viewed it as an opportunity to “continue to disrupt the digital ownership landscape of the music industry.”
