The goal of the layer 2 LN is to make peer-to-peer transactions faster, cheaper, and more reliable in order to get more people to use Bitcoin.
TBD, a part of Block (formerly Square) helmed by CEO Jack Dorsey, has created a new business called c= (pronounced c equals) to enhance the Bitcoin Lightning Network via the development of tools and services.
The Lightning Network (LN) is a layer 2 payment network. Its goal is to make peer-to-peer transactions faster, cheaper, and more reliable so that more people will use Bitcoin.
But C= intends to expand LN’s reach by adding liquidity and routing services.Since the LN started, its liquidity and capacity have grown naturally as more people use it.
In addition, services such as C= provide incremental updates to facilitate the worldwide adoption of Bitcoin.
C= helps wallet users, companies, and lightning node owners make faster, cheaper transactions by providing liquidity, services, and infrastructure.
The official declaration read:
“We want to meet you where your lightning needs are. Are you a business looking to accept Lightning payments? A wallet in need of channels or inbound for your customers? A hardened plebnet veteran looking for your next big source?”
Layer 2 services jointly enhancing Bitcoin operations makes it simpler for individuals to embrace the Bitcoin ecosystem.
Cash App, a prominent payments company founded by Jack Dorsey, has just incorporated the crypto tax and accounting software TaxBit into its services.
The change enables Bitcoin users to easily file their taxes. Cash App reportedly debuted its Bitcoin trading services in 2018 and BTC deposits the following year.
The business claims that there are more than 10 million Bitcoin users.
