Aptos set a new record for daily transactions on May 24 with 95.6 million. The network broke its record the next day, with 106 million daily transactions and a peak TPS of 6,604. The network already has more than 115 million transactions.
The surge follows the release of Taposcat, a new tap-to-earn game that sparked increased network activity.
Aptos’ network activity reportedly smashed Sui Network’s previous peak by more than 50%, hitting 115 million transactions.
Aptos Network Activity Rises
The blockchain processed 115.4 million transactions in a single day, greatly exceeding Solana’s 31.7 million transactions on the same day, according to Aptoscan data.
The network set an all-time high for user TPS at 32,000. The increase in activity demonstrates the network’s high number of transactions following the rise in Taposcat use.
The network has under 951 million transactions to date. TPS for all transactions averages 19.3, with updates every 30 seconds. With 848.2 million APT currently staked, 1.1 billion tokens (APT) are circulated. 133 active validators are powering the network.
The blockchain generally maintained higher transaction numbers than other chains, and Solana recorded 31.9 million transactions on May 25. Sui recorded 14.3 million transactions, which were consistent but lower than Aptos and Solana.
Polygon PoS needed better transaction volumes, with 3.9 million transactions. Ethereum had 1.2 million transactions, whereas Avalanche C-Chain recorded 135.2K transactions.
On May 25, 2024, the total number of transactions across all chains was 205.8 million, with Aptos accounting for about 75%.
