Binance Appoints New Regional Director for CEE, Central Asia

Binance, the largest cryptocurrency exchange in the world, announced on Thursday the appointment of Kyrylo Khomiakov as regional director for both Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) and Central Asia.

Binance plans to continue working on expansion, fiat partners, and its other goals despite the global crypto exchange’s exposure to several obstacles.

Binance announced Kyrylo Khomiakov’s promotion to regional director for both the Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) and Central Asia regions in a blog post on October 26.

These regions’ Binance teams will work under Kyrylo Khomiakov to concentrate on the exchange’s products and services. Significant emphasis will be placed on company growth, education initiatives, and the development of fiat channels.

Khomiakov will contribute to the enhancement of Binance’s industry leadership, marketing strategy, and relationships with government and public entities in these markets.

Richard Teng, the regional head of Binance, stated that, under the leadership of Kyrylo Khomiakov, Binance has labored to expand its presence in Ukraine over the past few years.

Khomiakov has served as the CEO of both the Ukrainian State Agency for Infrastructure Projects and a blockchain software development company.

In the past few years, Binance has experienced multiple setbacks, particularly in the United States. The increased scrutiny following the collapse of FTX and regulatory challenges by regulators had a significant impact on Binance.

Currently, Binance, Binance.US, and CZ are requesting that the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) lawsuit be dismissed.

The defendants assert that the SEC exceeded its authority by regulating crypto assets without official consent from the U.S. Congress and by irrationally classifying crypto assets as securities.
