Spain’s Bit2Me will participate in Consensus 2022

Bit2Me, a Spanish cryptocurrency exchange, will participate in the world’s largest cryptocurrency event, Consensus 2022. The crypto event will take place this weekend in Austin, Texas, marking another milestone in the crypto exchange’s “long-distance race” to the digital future.

According to Leif Ferreira, the company’s CEO, the crypto event in Austin will be an “excellent opportunity” to present Bit2Me to companies like PayPal, Binance, Microsoft, Apollo, Kraken, Sandbox, and Block.

Ferreira explained in a video call in which he stressed his search for public trust. He said:

“It is not as if tomorrow we are all going to start using cryptocurrencies, this is a journey of a couple of decades, and for a time they will coexist with the traditional. It is a long-distance race, and the mission of the company is to help in that transition.”

Abel Pea, Bit2Me’s CSO, will speak at the panel “Winning Trust in Web3” on the 10th of June, where he will discuss the necessity of cryptocurrency training, as well as its security and regulation.

Ferreira, who co-founded Bit2Me in 2014, speaks about the “crypto ecosystem,” and expresses his hope for a digital future, and recounts the company’s meteoric rise in terms like “retail,” “partners,” “roadmap,” and “trade.”

He notes that Bit2Me’s road had been peaceful until recently, coinciding with the initial offering of cryptocurrencies that it carried out last year, which was “the largest in Spain”. This move earned around 20 million euros from token buyers in a matter of minutes.

He underlines that he has chosen to reinvest and recruit talent, growing from roughly 20 people in 2020 to more than 250 now, spread across Alicante and Madrid, Spain, as well as an “unknown” Mediterranean coast location and a newly created office in Brazil.

Apart from the earnings from the token launch, the firm’s typical turnover in 2021 was around 13 million euros, primarily from commissions, and its activities totaled a billion euros.

Bit2Me was registered with the Bank of Spain early this year, making it the first Spanish company to be recognized by the central bank as a provider of virtual currency services, and it has since aided the National Police in a cryptocurrency seizure operation.
