FTX Claims Portal Goes Live Briefly

FTX, a defunct cryptocurrency exchange, established a customer claims portal that remained live for approximately one hour before being taken offline for unknown reasons.

Numerous social media users reported on July 11 that the FTX claims portal went live, allowing customers of the defunct crypto exchange who had accounts with FTX, FTX US, Blockfolio, FTX EU, FTX Japan, and Liquid to access their account information and submit claims for consideration in the firm’s restructuring proceedings.

According to FTX’s Kroll page, claim submissions were due by September 29.

Before its deactivation, the claims portal informed users that they would have access to their account balances on November 11, 2022, the date FTX filed for bankruptcy in the United States.

Users can still submit a proof of claim through Kroll’s online customer form or via U.S. mail.

The claims portal was inactive for approximately an hour at the time of publication.

In June, the debtors in FTX’s bankruptcy case announced that the company intended to launch an online claims portal.

In Delaware, bankruptcy proceedings are currently ongoing, and former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried‘s first fraud trial is scheduled to commence in October.
