Hackers that steal cryptocurrency are a known problem. These shady people frequently take advantage of a large number of unwary investors. Exchange hacks, wallet hacks, and phishing attacks are often used to pull off these scams. Also, people often get into digital wallets without permission or use misleading direct messaging.

The South Korean cryptocurrency exchange GDAC was hacked in one of the recent incidents. On Sunday, the crypto exchange also lost $13 million worth of cryptocurrencies.

South Korean Crypto Exchange GDAC Hot Wallet Experience Security Breach

On April 9, 2023, a security breach occurred in GDAC’s Hot Wallet. This caused many assets to be sent to a wallet no one knew about. About 23% of GDAC’s total custodial assets are the assets that were transferred.

The people who did the hack got away with about 61 Bitcoin (BTC), 350.5 Ether (ETH), 10 million Wemix tokens (WEMIX), and 220,000 USDT, according to the exchange. GDAC has notified the right people regarding the security breach and is working hard to get the stolen money back.

After the hack, the exchange shut down the wallet system and servers that were connected to it to protect its members’ assets.
