LinkedIn, Microsoft Unveil AI Recruiting and Learning Tools

The business-oriented social network LinkedIn and Microsoft’s LinkedIn have announced the launch of new artificial intelligence (AI) features to aid recruiters in candidate sourcing.

On October 3, LinkedIn announced the introduction of its pilot program for “Recruiter 2024,” an AI-assisted tool for recruiters. According to the announcement, recruiters can now use their “natural” questions on the platform to discover candidates.

Additionally, the tool can be used to construct job-related advertising campaigns. Ryan Roslansky, CEO of LinkedIn, stated at the Talent Connect Summit in New York that the industry requires new playbooks, which AI can assist in developing.

“The good news is that AI is not just accelerating the need for new playbooks, it’s also going to be a great tool in helping you all build them…”

In addition to the AI-assisted recruiting tool, LinkedIn also introduced AI-powered coaching within its LinkedIn Learning section.

It was stated that the AI component will be able to customize content and provide real-time guidance based on the user’s career goals.

Over the past year, interest in LinkedIn’s AI courses has increased by 65 percent. Initially, a “small handful” of users will have access to the new AI-powered recruiting and learning tools, which will become more extensively available throughout the year.

LinkedIn is owned by Microsoft and is rumored to have developed its AI features using technology from Microsoft-backed OpenAI, the inventor of the popular AI chatbot Chat-GPT.

It published AI-assisted messages for recruiters in May, and since then, 74% of users have reported that it saves them time. LinkedIn is among the companies that are beginning to integrate AI-driven applications into their operations.

Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, unveiled his response to messaging GPT on September 27 in the form of a new AI messaging assistant named Meta AI.

The Meta AI assistant will be integrated into Meta-owned platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp, which are prominent social media and messaging applications.
