This position requires working and collaborating with other investigators and intelligence and analysis team members to develop complex cases based on data and evidence from multiple sources.

This position requires an active or current Professionalizing Investigation Programme Level 2 accreditation or an equivalent government-issued investigative crime credential.

The salary ranges from 34,672 to 38,312 pounds (approximately $44,145 to $48,782.92) in addition to other civil service benefits.

The United Kingdom has been working to establish an investigative unit dedicated to illegal cryptographic activities. The NCA established its digital assets team on January 4, signaling a greater emphasis on crypto assets.

The establishment of the unit was prompted by a rise in the value of crypto fraud losses in the United Kingdom in 2022.

According to the United Kingdom’s cybercrime and fraud reporting system, crypto scammers seized at least $287 million in 2022.

The NCA has consistently attempted to add personnel to its crypto staff. The NCA also posted a job listing for financial investigation supervisors on July 26.

These investigators will supervise crypto and digital asset crime investigations from the perspective of the Proceeds of Crime Act, which involves the confiscation and redistribution of criminal proceeds for the benefit of the community.
