RGB++ Protocol Launches on Mainnet: Test Token Minting Now

RGB++ has launched the wallet and protocol development kit on the mainnet, allowing users to test token minting, spearheaded by Cipher Wang.

Cipher Wang, who created the RGB++ protocol and also founded the UTXO Stack platform for launching BTC Layer 2 blockchain modules, has announced that their wallet and protocol development kit are now available on the mainnet. Users can now test the operation of minting tokens.

To improve transaction verification and state change management, they added support for client-side validation methods and single-use seals to the RGB protocol. We accomplish this by linking the Bitcoin UTXO set to the Cell of Nervos CKB through isomorphic bindings. To further ensure the validity of ownership changes and the correctness of state computations, RGB++ utilizes scripting limitations on both Bitcoin and CKB chains.

The RGB++ development stack includes the following components: the RGB++ SDK, BtcTimeLock for Layer 1 and Layer 2 Leap, the RGB++ lock for isomorphic binding, the Bitcoin SPV contract on CKB, and the Bitcoin SPV proof service.

At the same time, the JoyID Passkey wallet now supports RGB++ assets, has.bit support for BTC-CKB transfers, and has a camera scan feature for recognizing Bitcoin addresses, according to the release note.

UTXO Stack Launches Revolutionary Bitcoin Ecosystem Initiative After Successfully Closing Seed Funding Round

CKB Eco Fund provided strategic support, and ABCDE and SNZ Capital led the seed funding round that UTXO Stack just completed. Additionally, UTXO Management, DRK Lab, OKX Ventures, Matrixport, Waterdrip Capital, and y2z Ventures were all involved in the investment round.

The project’s primary goal is to facilitate the development of high-performance parallel blockchains to improve scalability and encourage the expansion of the Bitcoin ecosystem. Staking BTC, CKB, and other Layer 1 assets of Bitcoin secures and simplifies the establishment of Layer 2 blockchains.

By integrating the RGB++ protocol, UTXO Stack makes it possible to run sophisticated smart contracts on top of Bitcoin assets. This integration streamlines asset transfers within the Bitcoin network and improves transaction efficiency by eliminating the requirement for cross-chain bridges.
