X (Twitter) to Eliminate Blocking Option

The social media site X, which used to be called Twitter, wants to eliminate the option for users to block other accounts. Elon Musk wrote on Friday that blocking would be removed from X (Twitter), except for Direct Messages.

But this is against the rules for App Store and Google Play apps. Both the App Store and the Google Play Store say that apps with user-generated content need to have a way to stop abusive or mean content. If X (Twitter) stops letting users block such content, it might be taken off the App Store and Google Play.

If you block someone, they can’t send you a direct message or comment on your posts. They also won’t be able to see what you write. Musk says that when blocking goes away, you can mute accounts and block people for direct messages.

Before X (Twitter), you could find Twitter in-app shops for a long time. Now that Musk has said something, X may be removed from mobile app stores. This would keep how the app works on the web. But people who use Android, iPhones, laptops, and other systems that aren’t PCs may lose the app’s ease of use.

It has yet to be determined when the new change will happen. Musk is in Japan for the first time in more than nine years. This is happening while the platform is still in the process of changing.
