Elon Musk Transforms Twitter Blue into X Premium

Elon Musk has rebranded the popular Twitter Blue subscription services as X Premium, following a significant rebranding of the popular social media platform Twitter to X.

Last month, X began sharing ad revenue in a surprising move, and many Twitter users reported receiving their share.

The ad revenue feature became available to all Blue subscribers on July 28. Musk stated in a Twitter conversation that the revenue will be calculated from the time he first promised it in February.

Based on advertisements posted in the comments of user tweet replies, ad revenue is shared.

This format is quite similar to TikTok, where advertisements are typically posted in the comments section instead of the primary feed.

Thus, both X and Tiktok encourage users to leave more comments and replies on their postings.

However, within a week, the X support account informed me that they were inundated by the number of premium subscribers and that it could therefore take some time to review and pay out eligible accounts.

Musk has been very vocal about transforming X into a “super app” or “all-in-one” service.

Musk launched the Twitter Blue subscription just weeks after his takeover, allowing users to purchase blue-tick verification markings from Twitter.

Eventually, the product evolved into a premium service that allowed subscribers to earn a portion of the ad revenue.
