9GAG’s CEO Ray Chan bought Stephen Chow “Nobody” NFT for $47,300 marking a 3,155% premium over its floor price.

Purchasing a Stephen Chow “Nobody” nonfungible token (NFT) at a price of 19.527 Ether ($47,300) is a 3,155% premium over the collection’s current floor price of 0.6 Ether ($1,450). Ray Chan, the Hong Kongese co-founder and CEO of the entertainment site 9GAG made the significant purchase. Only a fraction of the collector series possesses a unique Sun characteristic, which sets the Nobody 889 “Monkey King” themed NFT apart.

“One actor a year, Stephen Chow for a century; there are millions of little people, but the supreme treasure is unparalleled; Pictures are valuable, but memories are priceless,” the co-founder of the company wrote in a poem that praised the deal with a positive tone.

Hong Kong director Stephen Chow, most known for his work on the legendary film Kung Fu Hustle, introduced the Nobody NFT collections on February 7.

Since then, the total trading volume of the collection has topped 10,516 bitcoin. Jin Au-Yeung, popularly known as MC Jin is a Chinese-American rapper who was involved in the creation of the NFTs in December of last year.

The Hong Kong startup that bears the same name developed the Moonbox platform, where they introduced these NFTs. On January 10, Chow collaborated with the cryptocurrency exchange OKX to hold an event that resulted in the distribution of 2,500 of the 10,000 Nobody NFTs that were available.

More than 125,000 individuals attended the event. Additionally, 9GAG has been at the forefront of embracing new Web3 technology, in addition to creating stories based on popular memes and internet phenomena.

Chan, an enthusiastic collector of non-fungible tokens (NFTs), currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Memeland, a Web3 venture studio established by 9GAG.

Chan stated that despite the fact that purchasing a large number of NFTs during the bull run has left him feeling “down bad,” the lessons he has learned have been valuable enough to alter his approach to his own Web3 project at the moment. An engineer with expertise in blockchain technology is being sought by 9GAG for the purpose of developing “resilient, gas-efficient, and secure smart contracts on Ethereum.”
