Cloudflare suffered the second outage in a week but the company reveals that its team is already working on its restoration.
Cloudflare announced on Tuesday that it is experiencing service and network difficulties, which are creating errors or timeouts on several websites. Furthermore, the Cloudflare team has recognized the problem and is now working on a solution to restore the affected services.
Large cryptocurrency websites, as well as well-known commerce, networking, and gaming platforms, are among those affected. FTX, KuCoin, Coinbase, Amazon, Minecraft, Steam, Discord, Telegram, and GitLab are among the websites.
The Cloudflare team is investigating a critical P0 event that occurred at about 06:34 AM UTC and caused website issues or timeouts for roughly half of the Internet.
“Eyeballs attempting to reach sites in impacted regions will observe 500 errors. The incident impacts all data plane services in our network. We will continue updating you when we have more information.”
Cloudflare announced around 7 a.m. UTC that the team had found the problem and had implemented a fix to restore the affected services. Following that, the team began tracking the findings.
Cloudflare’s CTO, John Graham-Cumming, stated that the outage was not global, but it affected a large number of locations. The issue is with the backbone network. Services will be restored as soon as possible.
FTX, KuCoin, Kraken, Coinbase, WazirX, eToro, CoinMarketCap, Coingecko, Nexo, and other crypto platforms were affected.
Major websites include 2K Games, League of Legends, Minecraft, Steam, Amazon Web Services, Discord, DoorDash, Gitlab, Shopify, Skype, UPS, Udemy, Canva, HubSpot, and more.
Cloudflare is used by the majority of websites for performance, DDoS protection, and security. Furthermore, systems that use DigitalOcean’s DNS service for IP propagation experienced difficulty because the service is dependent on Cloudflare.
Cloudflare has had its second outage in less than a week. An outage on June 15 disrupted various regions of the world. Several sites, including Discord, GitLab, OSlash, Shopify, and Canva, experienced network outages in India, Indonesia, and Eastern Europe.
