Cryptocurrency Exchange OKX to List WIF, MEW Memecoins

Cryptocurrency Exchange, OKX has announced the listing of meme tokens MEW and WIF on its spot trading market.

The cryptocurrency exchange OKX declared that it would list the meme tokens Cat in a Dog’s World (MEW) and Dogwifhat (WIF) on its spot trading market. Deposits of tokens will start at 7:00 a.m. UTC today, while withdrawals will be possible starting at 10:00 a.m. UTC on April 16. Today will also see the start of spot trading for both meme tokens using USDT.

Dogwifhat, a playful cryptocurrency operating on the Solana network, sets itself apart with an image of a dog wearing a wif hat. Its focus on memes explains its widespread appeal in the bitcoin industry. There is a restriction on the total number of Dogwifhat tokens, which is 998,926,392.

Built on the Solana blockchain, the MEW coin has recently garnered significant attention for its strategy of presenting fresh stories about cats, aiming to challenge the dominance of meme coins with dog themes. In an attempt to take market share away from rivals, MEW steps out to make a name for itself in the cryptocurrency space. MEW tokens have a fixed supply of 88,888,888,888.

According to CoinMarketCap, WIF is currently trading at $3.05, indicating a gain of almost 13% in value in the last day.

In the meantime, MEW is trading at a little bit over 0.5 cent, indicating a 93% value gain in the last 24 hours. According to CoinMarketCap data, the cryptocurrency has grown by more than 209% since its launch in late March.

Memecoins Overflowing in the Crypto Market

A subcategory of cryptocurrencies known as memecoins is based on internet memes, pop culture allusions, and viral online occurrences. Unlike digital currencies like Bitcoin (BTC) or Ethereum (ETH), memecoins often originate as playful social experiments with minimal practical applications.

At the moment, cryptocurrency exchanges allow users to trade more than 340 different meme coins. By market capitalization, Dogecoin (DOGE), Shiba Inu (SHIB), Dogwifhat, Pepe (PEPE), and Floki (FLOKI) are the most well-known meme coins.
