Futureverse Accelerator: Building Open Metaverse Startup

Futureverse Base Camp Accelerator Program by Outlier Ventures, have chosen seven startups companies for it’s inaugural class program.

The Futureverse Base Camp Accelerator Program’s inaugural class has been announced by Outlier Ventures. Out of 500 submissions received from all across the globe, seven companies were ultimately picked. There is one seed-stage startup and six pre-seed startups among them.

Started in October 2023, the 12-week accelerator program will teach participants how to establish a company from the ground up, including topics like as product roadmaps, community strategies, token economics and design, fundraising, and more.

By expanding upon the Root Network, a decentralized blockchain tailored to the metaverse, all of the chosen projects intend to hasten the expansion of the open metaverse. The winning teams will be guided by prominent figures in the gaming, entertainment, and artificial intelligence industries, among others.

A variety of open metaverse subsets are catered to by the selected startups: Intraverse, Lifelike Digital, MintPass, Nucanon, Plurality, REKT Interactive, and Spark.

Lifelike Digital, located in New Zealand, creates lifelike digital avatars for usage in the metaverse, whereas Intraverse is a platform that facilitates gaming as a service with an emphasis on acquiring users through NFTs, intellectual property, brands, and gameplay.

Plurality helps users create web3 accounts by integrating their existing social profiles, while MintPass enables users earn rewards from their travel recommendations. Alternatively, Spark facilitates a unified interface for users by integrating TradFi and crypto.

The first class of the Futureverse Base Camp Accelerator also includes REKT Interactive, an infrastructure platform and on-chain oracle, and Nucanon, a program for collaborative narrative and game composition.

“We believe the future is a collective vision and will be architected by the many visionaries who aim to revolutionize the internet as we know it,” Aaron McDonald and Shara Senderoff, co-founders of Futureverse and Born Ready, said in a statement in response to the announcement. We will remain steadfast in our support of the groups working to build the ideas and technology that will hasten the expansion of the open metaverse and the Web3 environment.

Conversely, Blake Lezenski, Partner Program Director at Outlier Ventures, emphasized 500 applications because of the program’s immense popularity, which he attributed to “the momentum behind Futureverse, the aptitude of Open Metaverse technology builders as well as their infrastructure and rich IP ecosystem around The Root Network.”

“We have been long-term partners since the beginning, collaborating with various layers of their ecosystem. We are thrilled to launch our program and begin supporting the Open Metaverse founders who will shape its future,” Lezenski stated.

In a Series A investment round that Futureverse completed last year, 10T Holdings and Ripple were the lead investors, raising $54 million. The list of prominent businesses and organizations with which the company has partnered is long and includes Warner Brothers Discovery, Reebok, FIFA, Wimbledon, and Mastercard, among many more.
