Oasys, a gaming company, is teaming up with LayerZero for its Dragon Update, focusing on interoperable gaming.

The company Oasys, which specializes in video games, is growing its ecosystem, and the top feature on its list for the 2024 Dragon Update is interoperable gaming compatibility. To improve interoperable gaming in the Oasys ecosystem, the company has partnered with LayerZero, a top omni-chain interoperability protocol that provides uniform semantics across more than 60 blockchains.

According to the release, Oasys will initially apply the integration to its Layer 2 HOME Verse, with plans to expand it to the L1 Hub-Layer and other Verses later on. When Champions Tactics: Grimoria Chronicles from Ubisoft launches on the network, the business intends to use it to highlight the integration.

Users can mint and transfer non-fungible tokens (NFTs) across all 60+ supported networks with LayerZero’s Omnichain Non-Fungible Token (ONFT) standard. This technology will allow their gaming ecosystem to transfer game assets between networks.

Director of Oasys Daiki Moriyama said, “Our partnership with LayerZero is a game-changer for the blockchain gaming community.” “Increasing the number of players requires offering a unique web3 gaming experience, and one of our goals is definitely to improve the interoperability of in-game assets.”

“LayerZero adding an endpoint to Oasys is a major leap forward regarding the interoperability of in-game assets,” said Bryan Pellegrino, co-founder and CEO of LayerZero Labs. LayerZero’s mission is to empower players and foster community by increasing the accessibility and fun factor of their favorite games across various networks.

The addition of LayerZero’s ONFT technology to Ubisoft’s next game, Champions Tactics: Grimoria Chronicles, is a big step toward creating interoperable blockchain gaming experiences, according to Nicolas Pouard, vice president at Strat Lab.

“We’re moving from splintered chain standards to an omni-chain standard in partnership with Oasys and LayerZero, fostering better communication and interaction across chains and assets,” Pouard stated.

Interoperable cross-chain blockchain gaming, according to Oasys and LayerZero, not only lowers a major obstacle to Web3 gaming but also promotes a more varied and welcoming gaming environment for all users.
