OneCoin Co-Conspirator Sentenced to 4 Years for Crypto Scam

Irina Dilkinska, former head of legal and compliance at OneCoin, has been sentenced to 4 Years in prison without parole for her role in the cryptocurrency scam.

The individuals involved in the OneCoin cryptocurrency scam, which included multiple billions of dollars, appear to be under Nemesis’ scrutiny.

The authorities in the United States has sentenced Irina Dilkinska, the former head of legal and compliance at OneCoin, to incarceration. Damian Williams, the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, announced that Dilkinska received 4 Years jail sentence without the possibility of parole.

District Judge Edgardo Ramos of the United States of America rendered the verdict about her participation in the fraudulent scheme that resulted in the loss of millions of dollars for several investors.

As the corporation’s legal representative, the United States authorities acknowledge that her role in the plan blatantly violated the company’s code of conduct.

Attorney Wiliams continued by saying, “Rather than upholding the law and embracing her position as the Head of Legal and Compliance, she facilitated and committed money laundering, thereby contributing to the exploitation of millions of victims. “Ruja Ignatova and Karl Sebastian Greenwood co-founded OneCoin, a cryptocurrency initiative, with its headquarters in Sofia, Bulgaria, in 2014.

Not too long after the company’s establishment, it began marketing a fraudulent pyramid scheme to potential investors. Around four billion dollars were invested by a few customers over time, but in the end, they were taken advantage of.

OneCoin Executives Paying for their Crimes

On the day that the conspiracy came to light, Dilkinska entered a guilty plea to charges of wire fraud and money laundering. Considering that she entered a guilty plea on each of the counts, there were rumors that she could receive a sentence of up to five years in prison.

Judge Ramos handed down a sentence of ten years in jail to a former attorney named Mark Scott in 2024. Judge Ramos convicted Scott for establishing fictitious investment funds to transfer the illegal gains from the OneCoin scheme.

Since Sebastian was the brains behind the entire scheme, he is currently serving a sentence of twenty years in prison. Although CryptoQueen, known as Ignatova, is still at large, the authorities have pledged to “hold accountable every perpetrator of the OneCoin scheme, regardless of where they may hide.”

As the FBI continues to pursue Ignatova, the search for her has become more intense. The FBI has added her to the list of the Top Ten Most Wanted Individuals, offering a hundred thousand dollar reward for information leading to her arrest.
