Planet Mojo Secures $10.5M Investment for Web3 Game Growth

Planet Mojo, the indie Web3 game maker, received a strategic investment round totaling $10.5 million, led by Animoca Brands, and others.

Animoca Brands, Merit Circle, and Courtside VC spearheaded a new strategic investment round that indie Web3 game maker Planet Mojo announced. The company reports that this additional funding has raised a total of $10.5 million thus far.

Animoca Brands led a $5 million seed round that the firm received in December 2021.

Additional participants in the most recent round of funding came from: Republic, NGC Ventures, Alchemy, Big Brain Holdings, Sfermion, Citizen Capital, EVG, Readyplayer DAO, Polkastarter, Metavest Capital, Symbolic Capital, Everyrealm, Fourth Revolution Capital, and Momentum 6. 

In a post on X, Planet Mojo said, “This milestone marks a significant step forward in the development of the Mojo Ecosystem and our growth trajectory,” in response to the announcement. The generosity of our primary backers has allowed us to embark on this trip.

According to Planet Mojo, the new funding will be critical to the Mojo ecosystem’s expansion and the studio’s overall success. 

Planet Mojo released Mojo Melee as the first game on their metaverse platform in 2023. Mojo Melee positions itself as a next-generation AutoChess Battler game, allowing users to “earn real rewards as they play” in battles.

There have been major advancements in Mojo Melee since its release a year ago. In August 2023, a partnership revealed the opportunity for Amazon Prime members to win unique Mojo Melee NFTs.

The Polygon ecosystem allows players to connect with a growing community of Web3 gamers, and the game is based on Polygon’s lightning-fast and extremely scalable blockchain.
