According to CoinGecko, the craze for meme coins in 2023 is primarily being driven by the U.S. India was following closely behind. The United Kingdom came in third on the list of places where meme coins are most popular.
At first, meme coins were most wanted in the first few countries, but now they are in many countries. Countries like the Philippines and Malaysia in Southeast Asia, Nigeria and Morocco in Africa, Australia and New Zealand in Oceania, and Canada are at the forefront of the meme coin craze. 82.9% of the people interested in meme coins were from the top ten countries listed above.
Shiba Inu (SHIB) Attracts the Most Attention
Shiba Inu has taken over as the most popular meme coin, getting a lot more attention from people all over these countries. In particular, 46.7% of all interest has come from cryptocurrency, and a big part has come from the U.S.
The report also said that Shiba Inu is very famous in the U.S., as 60.7% of people are interested in them. Also, in India, 55.8% of the country’s people are interested in it.
People say meme coins like Floki Inu, Bonk, and Baby DogeCoin are doing well in other countries. In particular, FLOKI got a lot of press in the Philippines and Nigeria. At the time of press, SHIB was selling for $0.00001001, a daily increase of 0.36%.
PEPE Coins Make Noise
Even though PEPE is a new digital currency, it has already gained much attention and fame. But compared to its rivals, it has a lot of room to grow. Still, it got 11.8% of the interest in joke coins in the U.S. In Canada, on the other hand, people were most interested in PEPE meme coins, which made up 26.9% of the population.
