Telegram has launched an Ad platform on the TON blockchain, which allows channel owners to earn revenue from Ads.

Telegram, an online messaging service recently unveiled an advertising platform developed using the blockchain technology known as The Open Network (TON).

Starting in March, channel owners in more than 100 countries can begin benefiting financially from their efforts once the advertising platform becomes available to all marketers.

Pavel Durov, the founder and CEO of Telegram announced on February 28 that channel owners will start receiving 50% of the total advertising revenue generated from the display of advertisements within their channels.

According to the statement, using the TON blockchain to make payments will be unique to the Telegram Ad Platform.” In a manner analogous to how we handled Telegram usernames on Fragment, we will sell advertisements and divide the earnings with the owners of channels in Toncoin.

Consequently, this will result in a positive feedback loop in which content providers can either withdraw their Toncoins or reinvest them in promoting and improving their channels, as stated by Durov.

Surge in Telegram’s TON Price

In the 24 hours leading up to 12:40 p.m. UTC, the value of Toncoin (TON) on the TON blockchain increased by 13.86%, reaching $2.49. Over the last week, the token has experienced a rise of more than 14%.

Telegram Ads, a promotional tool that protects users’ privacy, market only about ten percent of these views. Following WhatsApp, WeChat, and Facebook Messenger in popularity, it is currently the fourth most popular online messaging service worldwide.

Bankmycell has determined that Telegram has around 196 million daily active users and 800 million monthly active users. A growing number of people are showing interest in the TON blockchain.

Animoca Brands announced in November 2023 that it would become the largest validator on the TON blockchain. Additionally, the company intends to develop blockchain-based games on Telegram.

At the Next Block Expo event in Berlin, Germany, Animoca Brands chairman Yat Siu stated that the validator arrangement involved purchasing an undisclosed amount of Toncoin, in which the company staked. He said:

“We actually think that’s a tool for mass onboarding with TON wallet. There are 800 million users on Telegram using TON. What’s not to be excited about?”
