Solana Co-founder proposed stress testing the network by forking the ORE protocol, responding to a post by Chaofan Shou.
Anatoly Yakovenko, Solana Co-Founder has presented a fresh open proposal to the community in an effort to address the network issues that the blockchain is currently experiencing.
Solana Co-Founder Suggests Stress Testing
In his most recent call, he called for the network to be subjected to stress testing by means of the forking of the ORE protocol. Solana Co-Founder suggested stress testing Solana as a direct response to a previous post on X by Chaofan Shou, a PhD student at the University of Berkeley, who discussed how he earns $10,000 per day by mining ORE.
This was a direct response to the content of the post. As a means of providing context, he presented ORE as a token that is constructed on Solana but that makes use of a mining system as a method of claiming transactions.
Despite relying on bloXroute and Jito Bundles for his setup, Solana Co-Founder believes that everyone should embrace the lucrative nature of the enterprise. He believes that forking it for a more mainstream embrace will appeal to everyone.
During the course of his suggestion, he inquired as to whether or not it is possible for someone to “build an ORE fork but with a miner on Solana’s testnet, then airdrop rewards on the mainnet?”
The core developers of Solana are currently exploring various options on the testnet of the blockchain to enhance its resilience, as part of a broader effort to address the current congestion issues.
Solana Co-Founder believes that an appealing ORE fork has the potential to attract thousands or perhaps millions of users, all of whom will simultaneously supply the necessary traffic that will demonstrate whether or not Solana is breaking the congestion jinx simultaneously.
Solana Co-Founder explained the incentive associated with the ORE forking to anyone interested in participating in the business opportunity. He verified that the core developers of the network, as well as all validators, will back the move.
Furthermore, he announced that Solana will conduct its highly anticipated stress test, offering free tokens to testers or miners for commercial mining.
The problem of finding a solution to the Solana situation has overwhelmed every significant stakeholder in the ecosystem. There are a number of suggestions that have been made, one of which is the implementation of stake-weighted quality of service (SWQoS), which would significantly improve both security and stability.
Despite the fact that the Solana congestion problem has caused the protocol as a whole to suffer, Yakovenko has stated that it will take some time to find a long-term solution.
The delay is significant because a large number of builders and entrepreneurs have decided to halt the launch of their projects. Others are gradually transitioning to alternative protocols, which has resulted in the requirement for a solution that is both practical and quick.
Additionally, we are currently evaluating an important improvement that validator client Anza has published. This change comes in addition to the ORE forking proposal.
